Mazel Tov Ilana & Family! {St. Louis Bat Mitzvah Photographer}

I’m so excited to post these photos of beautiful, athletic, awesome Ilana and her family!! She became a Bat Mitzvah at the end of October and was INCREDIBLE!! I got to know them a little a couple of years ago during her brother’s Bar Mitzvah, so it was especially fun spending more time with them this Fall. What an honor it was to be part of her weekend!

Rabbi Carnie and Paulie have four children, of which Ellior is the youngest. I’ve seen each one of their children become a Bat or Bar Mitzvah, and had the honor of documenting many special moments during those times. As I witnessed Ellior leading services and reading from the Torah on her Bat Mitzvah last month, and looked over to see all of the familiar faces (Ellie’s parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles), I couldn’t help but to feel like I was part of their beautiful family. I was overcome with joy to be a part of their lives. Mazel tov to you all!! I love you!!!

What a great joy to see our friends’ son Adin become a Bar Mitzvah! His saba (grandpa) tutored our daughter during her Bat Mitzvah and will also tutor our son. We’ve made many memories together with Adin’s immediate and extended family over the years, but it was especially wonderful to document this mitzvah and to have a chance to celebrate this special day as well! Here are a few favorite shots from Adin’s Bar Mitzvah rehearsal and party at the end of April!

Mazel tov to two amaaaazing young women!! Each of these girls learned an entire book of Talmud (in Hebrew) in preparation for their Bat Mitzvah!!! I can hardly even wrap my head around this task. I’ve had the honor of photographing this family for years now, so it was truly special to see them reach this important milestone. Here are some highlights from their weekend!
One of the most fun and different parts of the party was the Master Chef-style BAKE OFF!!!
Notice the extreme difference between Team 2 with mostly girls (above) and Team 7 with all boys (below).
At the end of the night, everyone put their arms around each other and sang and danced together.

Mazel Tov David & Family! {St. Louis Bar Mitzvah Photographer}

It’s taken me all day to get this blog uploaded with all the distractions from my children being on winter break, but I finally finished it!! I’ve known David and his mom since my daughter (who’s David’s age) and David were in Kindergarten together, so I’ve had the pleasure of watching him grow up for the last eight years. I was also able to take his 1st and 2nd grade school portraits, as well as some family portraits of him and his mom on Laclede’s Landing, so it was great to have another chance to capture some memories on his Bar Mitzvah weekend a few weeks ago! Mazel Tov to David, Mom, Dad, Mom #2, little brothers, and everyone else who celebrated this great day!!

Mazel Tov Sam! {St. Louis Bar Mitzvah Photographer}

I really wanted to share some of my favorite moments from Sam’s Bar Mitzvah, so, even though they are a little late, here they are! Sam is truly such a kind person. It is not only apparent by the way he led services and read from the Torah on his Bar Mitzvah last month, but also in the way he treats his sister and interacts with his parents with such gentleness and love.

I’m so excited to share these images of two incredibly inspirational, strong, compassionate, joyful, loving, and powerful women!!! Winalee and Caroline are Nia Black Belt Trainers, and I had the privilege of earning my Brown Belt with them in Michigan at the end of July. I love them both so much, and I hope you can see how wonderful they are through these moments I was able to capture with them.
