2018 High School Graduate Zakai! {St. Louis High School Senior Photographer}

September 26, 2017 · High School Seniors

Aaahhh!! High school senior portrait season is upon us! And these sessions are my favorite!! Unfortunately, Zakai requested a super short session, but I still had fun (aside from an insane amount of mosquitoes and gnats), and I’m so happy with the images we got. I’ve watched him grow up over the last ten years, and have had so much fun photographing him and his family. He continues to amaze me with his sweet demeanor, kindness to children, and patience with me when I’m taking his picture! He’s gets more and more handsome every time he’s in front of the camera. Here are a few of my favorites from our session last week…

Ilana Becomes a Bat Mitzvah Next Month! {St. Louis Bat Mitzvah Photographer}

September 25, 2017 · Get to Know You Sessions, Kiddos

In just a few weeks, Ilana will step onto the Bimah at synagogue to lead services and read from the Torah as a Jewish adult. Since I was able to photograph her brother’s Bar Mitzvah two and a half years ago, it’s especially fun to get to see Ilana in the spotlight this time. She is fun, energetic, strong, determined, and adorable! I’m excited to see her shine next month!

Total Solar Eclipse in Leasburg, Missouri 2017 {St. Louis Child Photographer}

August 22, 2017 · Kiddos, Snapshots, Vacations

My family and I, along with some close friends, met in the path of totality, at one of our favorite campgrounds, Ozark Outdoors Riverfront Resort, in Leasburg, Missouri to witness and experience the amazing transformation of our sky during the 2017 solar eclipse. We were lucky to have 2 minutes and 5 seconds of totality surrounded by the beauty of the Meramec River.

One of the most memorable parts of my experience was the changing of the light, from a typical sunny summer day to a dimming warm light that casted detailed shadows like we had never seen. Hearing and feeling the shared excitement of family, friends, and strangers brought a unique feeling of connection and solidarity. Not only did the sky radiate with the colors of a sunset and the bugs start chirping as we had heard would happen, but our children actually decided to change out of their swimming suits and put on dry clothes because they were “done swimming for the day” as the moon continued on it’s journey past the sun. Only after the eclipse was totally over did they realize that it was still early afternoon and, with a hot summer sun once again blazing above their heads, there was still plenty of time to float down the river a couple more times.

Here are some moments I was able to capture…

Mazel Tov Ellior and Family! {St. Louis Bat Mitzvah Photographer}

June 21, 2017 · Events

Rabbi Carnie and Paulie have four children, of which Ellior is the youngest. I’ve seen each one of their children become a Bat or Bar Mitzvah, and had the honor of documenting many special moments during those times. As I witnessed Ellior leading services and reading from the Torah on her Bat Mitzvah last month, and looked over to see all of the familiar faces (Ellie’s parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles), I couldn’t help but to feel like I was part of their beautiful family. I was overcome with joy to be a part of their lives. Mazel tov to you all!! I love you!!!

Mazel Tov to Adin & Family! {St. Louis Bar Mitzvah Photographer}

May 17, 2017 · Events

What a great joy to see our friends’ son Adin become a Bar Mitzvah! His saba (grandpa) tutored our daughter during her Bat Mitzvah and will also tutor our son. We’ve made many memories together with Adin’s immediate and extended family over the years, but it was especially wonderful to document this mitzvah and to have a chance to celebrate this special day as well! Here are a few favorite shots from Adin’s Bar Mitzvah rehearsal and party at the end of April!

Arkansas Spring Break {Family Vacation Photographer}

March 30, 2017 · Kiddos, Snapshots, The Great Outdoors, Vacations

A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to join her and her daughters (who are also friends with my children) in crystal mining and camping in Arkansas for a few days during Spring Break. If you know me, you know there’s a slim chance I’ll say no to an invitation to go camping. It’s my favorite thing to do!! We camped on Lake Ouachita at Joplin Campground and had a blast mining for crystals. It was such a beautiful few days away from home!

Sophia & Maya's B'nai Mitzvah! {St. Louis Bat Mitzvah Photographer}

March 15, 2017 · Events

Mazel tov to two amaaaazing young women!! Each of these girls learned an entire book of Talmud (in Hebrew) in preparation for their Bat Mitzvah!!! I can hardly even wrap my head around this task. I’ve had the honor of photographing this family for years now, so it was truly special to see them reach this important milestone. Here are some highlights from their weekend!

One of the most fun and different parts of the party was the Master Chef-style BAKE OFF!!!

Notice the extreme difference between Team 2 with mostly girls (above) and Team 7 with all boys (below).

At the end of the night, everyone put their arms around each other and sang and danced together.
