Beautiful Fall Family Portraits {St. Louis Newborn Photographer}

December 1, 2015 · Family Bonds, Just Born, Pets

This colorful family portrait session was taken in the end of October, obviously during the most beautiful time of the season! Leah & John are sweet, patient, and super cool new parents and I am so excited to be the photographer to take their first family portraits. Newborn sessions are one of my favorites to photograph, but they sure do get more and more difficult as Baby gets older. This cute little wiggle worm was a few months old when we took these photos, so the session included lots of extra feedings and bouncy time. And to add more excitement to the mix, Leah and John also wanted to include their “first babies,” the doggies!! Here are some of the fun moments we had together!

Multi-Generational Family Portraits! {St. Louis Family Portrait Photographer}

July 21, 2015 · Family Bonds

I had so much fun spending time on the farm with this beautiful, close-knit, generous family! There was laughing, cuddling, peach tossing, tractor riding, and lots of memory making during their multi-generational family portrait session which was scheduled in honor of Great Grandma Peggy’s 85th birthday. I even got to go home with armfuls of fresh veggies and herbs from the garden. Here are a few moments from the afternoon!

Newborn Baby and Her Big Brother, the Dog {St. Louis Newborn Photographer}

July 9, 2015 · Family Bonds, Just Born

Congratulations to Emily and Zach on the arrival of their perfect baby girl!! It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve had the joy of photographing (and snuggling) with a newborn, which is totally unfair since they are one of my favorite sessions to shoot! Here are some cuddly moments I captured during Grace Marie’s newborn portrait session last week.

July 1, 2015 · Family Bonds

My high school friend and her family no longer live in St. Louis, but when they visit home, I have the pleasure of spending time with them creating memories!! This year, we hung out around Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village while shooting their family portrait session. Here are some of the moments we captured!

My Family Portraits! {St. Louis Children’s Photographer}

December 15, 2014 · Family Bonds, Kiddos

Knowing that Fall is one of the busiest times of year for me (and all other portrait photographers), I have no clue why I always decide to take my own family portraits at the same time as practically everyone else!  Are we ALL procrastinators or do we just LOVE the colors of the Fall so much that we’re willing to risk missing that short window of leaf color perfection due to inclement weather or not being able to get an appointment at the last minute?  Lucky for me, I don’t have to worry as much about last minute appointments since I can just keep an eye on the weather forecast and put my family down on my calendar whenever I want!  Even so, I like to save the weekends for my clients and always schedule my own portraits during the week.  This courtesy actually caused me to miss taking my family portraits last year!!  So this year, I was determined to get them done.

Because we had to wait for the kids to get home from school, help them with their outfits, style their hair, travel to the location almost thirty minutes away, and figure out where we were going to shoot because it was my first time at Route 66 State Park (thanks to Shelly S. for suggesting it!), we didn’t have much time to shoot.  Add in a child who can only handle about 15 minutes of portraits and the stress gets even worse!  The candy bribes helped, but not enough to allow us to get our whole family in front of the camera before the sun went down.  I was really disappointed when I realized that we were going to have to go through it all over again just to get the actual family portrait taken.  Someone in the family really didn’t want to go all the way back to Eureka, so I settled for one of my favorite locations, the Missouri Botanical Garden, instead.  You’ll see how all of the portraits are obviously taken in the same location, except the last one!!  The colors are totally different!!  Oh well.  At least we have these memories!  I love them!! st-louis-childrens-photographer (2) st-louis-childrens-photographer (3) st-louis-childrens-photographer (10)

I took some portraits of my hubby, Brian, with each of the kids, and gave him a collage frame including nine of my favorite images as a Father’s Day present about five or six years ago.  Taliyah had a giant gap in her mouth from all the missing teeth and Leilie was barely a toddler.  All of them look like babies compared to what they look like now!

I never got any of these kinds of images of the kids with me, but thought about them every single year that went by.  I’m so happy that Brian finally captured these moments!!  I was so worried that I would never get them, and that the kids would soon be all grown up.  Thank you my love!!!!!

And here’s our family portrait, taken a couple of weeks later (November 5)!

Perfect Day For Urban Family Portraits! {St. Louis Children's Photographer}

December 12, 2014 · Family Bonds, Kiddos

I had a blast downtown with this adorable family last month!  This is the 3rd time I’ve been given the honor of making their family portraits over the past few years, and I think these are my favorites (I loved the other two sessions too though)!  The leaves were still beautiful, the sun was shining, and we even got the perfect amount of wind.  Here are some highlights from our shoot!

Beautiful Fall Family Portraits {St. Louis Children's Photographer}

December 5, 2014 · Family Bonds, Kiddos

I love the outfits Mom picked out for this gorgeous Fall day…a perfect, complementary, jewel-toned color scheme showing off her family’s style. Jewel-tones are my favorite for family portraits!  And this little fella was an absolute joy to play with.  Here are some highlights from our session!

For some reason, I just love shots with kiddos either covering their mouth from laughing so hard or playing peek-a-boo.  Here’s a laughing moment.st-louis-childrens-photographer (8)

I also love pensive moments, especially when they are of adorable little guys basking in the beautiful rim light of the setting sun.  st-louis-childrens-photographer (9) st-louis-childrens-photographer (10) st-louis-childrens-photographer (12)

Fun Family Portrait Session {St. Louis Family Portrait Photographer}

October 7, 2014 · Family Bonds, Kiddos

I love when I have a chance to photograph families with older children.  It’s so great to see everyone’s personalities come out, and to see the bond they all have with each other.  In this family portrait session, we actually tackled “Get to Know You” portraits for Jack’s upcoming Bar Mitzvah, high school senior portraits of his older brother, portraits of his older sister, to be fair, all three siblings together, mom and dad together, and the whole family!  That’s a lot of combos for one session!  It was fun though!

1st Birthday Boy! {St. Louis Baby Photographer}

September 21, 2014 · Birthday Shoots, Family Bonds, Growing Babies, Kiddos

Happy 1st birthday to adorable Jack!!  This blog post is actually two months past Jack’s 1st birthday portrait session, but I still wanted to share some of my favorite images from the day.  I’ve now had the chance to celebrate his big sister’s 1st birthday, his birth, and now his 1st birthday.  It’s so great to be able to see this sweet family during such important times in their lives.

Urban Family Portraits! {St. Louis Children's Photographer}

August 13, 2014 · Family Bonds, Kiddos

It had been about three years since I last photographed the Wasserman Family, but once Mom and I got into a conversation about how fast our soon-to-be 5th graders were suddenly growing up, she decided to book a session right away.  We had so much fun walking around, laughing, and making new friends in the U. City Loop! st-louis-childrens-photographer (1)st-louis-childrens-photographer (4)st-louis-childrens-photographer (2)st-louis-childrens-photographer (3)st-louis-childrens-photographer (5)st-louis-childrens-photographer (11)st-louis-childrens-photographer (10)st-louis-childrens-photographer (8)st-louis-childrens-photographer (9)st-louis-childrens-photographer (6)st-louis-childrens-photographer (7) After all the fun, these lucky girls got treated to this amazing new candy shop!!  How could their parents resist these cute little beggars? st-louis-childrens-photographer (12)
