Since everyone likes a little advice when it comes to what to wear during their photo sessions, I’ve had this idea to take photos of my own beloved children in outfits that I personally love. Finally, after a couple of years of thinking of doing it, I finally did!! Please keep in mind that I did not fix their hair or even prep them mentally for our little mini photo shoot. Therefore, two of them were actually puh-ritty (pretty) uncooperative. Luckily, you can’t tell too much…… I did make one of them come back out for a reshoot though since he didn’t smile for me at all! Anyway, here are some ideas for mixing complementary colors and patterns, which I LOOOVE!!!
Okay, I know I am biased since these are my own children, but HOLY COW! I love these images of my beautiful baby!!!!
Since there were many complaints about being in the hot sun during the first five minute “session,” for the reshoot, I shot in the shade next to our house with the perfect white fence across our driveway bouncing beautiful light into the kids’ faces! I love these fun shots!!
And this is our pet “Claws!” He lives behind our recycle bins and occasionally vacations under our leaky hose faucet.

I usually don’t take my camera with me when I’m not working since I work so much already and it takes forever for me to edit personal photos, but I decided to take it on our recent Mother’s Day camping trip to snap a few shots of our friends hanging out at one of our favorite campgrounds, Ozark Outdoors!

I decided to take pictures of my son’s play date last week, and then thought it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t also take pictures of this week’s play date with another friend. My daughter will have a play date tomorrow, and then another with a different friend next week. I will probably feel the need to snap a few shots on those days too! When will it be time for me to stop documenting these adorable moments and get back to work?? I don’t know the answer to that. But I sure am happy to get a few shots of my kiddos just having fun with their pals…even if they were totally wild and uncooperative most of the time. : )

We missed our friends SOOO much while on vacation for two whole weeks!! And our kiddos did too. “S” got to be the first one since our return home to have a play date with his good friend “A,” and since the boys were having so much fun with our new water squirters and pool, I had to snap a few shots! Believe me, it was dangerous being around these two little guys with so much water! I wish I could have gotten more than just a few shots, but I just couldn’t risk being outside for long with my camera!!

It’s not very often when I allow myself to work on my own children’s photos, because I always have a never ending list of galleries and orders to finish for my amazing client families. But I just had to edit and post these fun shots from today when we all found a frog to play with for a little while!

I love the pics of your kids with the frog, but the two pics that really caught my attention was the frog surrounded by the rainbow and the frog in the grass. Love ’em!

Thanks for the comment on my blog Julie!! I LOVE blog comments!!!! I agree that the two images with the frog alone are attention grabbers! I love them too. The kids weren’t as impressed by them as the images that included themselves and their siblings with their beloved frog pal.

LOVE these people, LOVED the camping trip, LOVE the photos! So great that you documented such a fun trip!!! Now, on to other matters…I look a little wacko but I guess that it is a true representation!
I took about eight photos of you! You were either blinking, laughing too hard, or making a weird face in all of them! : ) Obviously, in the photo I chose, you were deeply engaged in an interesting story.
The pictures of the bald guy scares me.
Yes, “the bald guy” can be scary at times. Ha ha ha……
